Aberdeen International Airport is gearing up for a busy festive season as thousands of passengers travel through the terminal to reunite with loved ones or enjoy winter getaways.

Over the festive fortnight, more than 74,000 passengers will travel through Aberdeen International Airport, with the busiest day forecast for Friday 19 December when around 6,000 people are expected.

From family visits to festive escapes, travellers will be heading to a wide range of destinations across the UK and Europe.

Top destinations include both London and Amsterdam for hub connectivity as well as Alicante, Tenerife, Paris and Krakow.

New routes launched this year include Krakow with Ryanair, ideal for exploring Poland’s Christmas markets, and Paris Charles de Gaulle with easyJet, offering a festive escape to one of Europe’s most iconic cities.

Mark Beveridge, managing director of Aberdeen International Airport, said: “The festive season is a special time for travel, and we’re delighted to help thousands of passengers start their celebrations. With new routes to Krakow and Paris, there’s even more choice for winter breaks and cultural experiences.

“We encourage everyone to arrive in good time, check airline requirements, and enjoy the festive atmosphere at the airport. It’s also wonderful to welcome arrivals to the Granite City as families and friends reunite over Christmas.”

Passengers are reminded that under the airport’s new security process, liquids up to 100ml, large electrical items, and other belongings can remain inside hand luggage.
