Aberdeen Lifeboat rescues man from River Dee

Aberdeen Lifeboat was paged at 7.55pm on Saturday, April 14, when a man was seen to fall into the River Dee from the Victoria Bridge in Aberdeen.

A volunteer crew of three launched the Inshore Lifeboat ‘James Bisset Simpson’ a few minutes after 8pm and were on scene before 8.05pm, where they quickly rescued the man to the lifeboat.

Crewmembers reported that the man was conscious throughout, however he was recovered at speed to Aberdeen Lifeboat Station as a precaution for transfer to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
