Aberdeen Local Wine School has announced a new summer event in partnership with Books & Beans, bringing together international food and wine pairings for an evening of global flavours in the heart of the Granite City.
A Taste of the World: Small Plates & Wine will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026 and follows the success of the two businesses’ previous collaboration, which proved popular with local food and wine enthusiasts.
Guests will be taken on a culinary journey across six different countries, with six carefully selected international wines each paired with an authentic small plate inspired by the flavours of its region. Organisers say attendees can expect everything from the sun-soaked vineyards and fresh cuisine of the Mediterranean to the bold, rustic dishes of South America and the aromatic spice of the East.
Designed to appeal to both seasoned wine lovers and those looking for a unique evening out, the event promises an immersive experience of discovery, conversation, and expertly matched food and drink.
Aberdeen Wine School is run by Anna Ferrier and was launched in August 2022. Anna has worked in the wine industry for over ten years and holds the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Diploma as well as being a certified WSET educator. She is looking to bring the world of wine closer to both novices and experts by learning and tasting a wide variety of styles, covering wine producing countries from across the globe. She is working closely with other local businesses and venues to run her events.
