Aberdeen Local Wine School is expanding its food and drink education offering with the launch of the Academy of Cheese Level 1 course, giving cheese lovers and hospitality professionals the chance to gain a recognised qualification while sharpening their tasting skills.

The one-day course will take place on Sunday 7th June 2026 at Faffless in Aberdeen, led by certified Academy of Cheese Associate Anna Ferrier.

The one-day course will cover the essentials of cheesemaking, the stories behind some of the world’s most iconic cheeses, and the Academy’s professional tasting techniques.

Participants will enjoy a guided tasting of 12 classic cheeses, and learn how to build and present the perfect cheese board.

Staying true to its wine school roots, the course also includes tastings of six specially selected wines, showcasing how the right pairing can elevate flavour.

After the course, attendees can complete the Level 1 Associate Exam online, with successful candidates receiving an official certificate and pin badge.

Aberdeen Wine School is run by Anna Ferrier and was launched in August 2022. Anna has worked in the wine industry for over 10 years and holds the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Diploma as well as being a certified WSET educator.

She is looking to bring the world of wine closer to both novices and experts by learning and tasting a wide variety of styles, covering wine producing countries from across the globe. She is working closely with other local businesses and venues to run her events.
