Aberdeen magicians first at the world-famous magic circle

Aberdeen-based magicians and presenters Fifth Dimension are heading for the world-famous Magic Circle in London to perform their full evening show, Unbelievable, for an audience of their magical peers.

Performing under their stage double act name of Smith & Burns, Ivor Smith and Jeff Burns will perform at the Magic Circle – the world’s best-known society for magicians – on Monday, December 3.

The performance at the Magic Circle is the latest in a number of firsts for the magical duo this year.

In August, the popular double act joined a group of internationally-renowned magicians and television personalities to perform on the Legends of Magic cruise, quickly followed by an appearance in the International Stars of Magic and Variety show at the International Brotherhood of Magicians’ annual convention.

Ivor said: “This has been an incredible year for us and performing at the Magic Circle will be the icing on the cake. Following our successful debut cruise earlier this year, the promoters have already been in touch to talk about further cruises in 2019.”

Jeff added: “It’s an incredible honour to be invited to perform for your peers. Any magician’s triple dream venues are the Magic Castle in Hollywood, a show in Las Vegas and London’s Magic Circle.

“We have now appeared at the Magic Castle twice and headlined in Las Vegas, so to get to perform at the Magic Circle is amazing. We also think this is the first time that any magicians from the north east of Scotland have performed their full show at the Magic Circle.”

The Magic Circle was founded in 1905 and moved to its current purpose-built headquarters in Stephenson Way in 1998. Boasting an international membership of around 1,500 magicians, members include famous performers like Derren Brown, Dynamo, Jamie Raven – star of Britain’s Got Talent, and Prince Charles.

Fifth Dimension is made up of highly experienced business presenters, who have backgrounds in a range of disciplines, including finance, marketing, tax, health & safety and management. Also magicians and entertainers, in 1999 the founders established the company to combine these skills with their business experience to provide five main areas of services – entertainment, safety magic, team development, exhibitions and education workshops.
