The inaugural Aberdeen Marathon has officially sold out, with organisers urging runners who missed out to join the waiting list.
Thousands of runners are set to take to the streets for the event on July 17, 2027, which will bring a full marathon to the Granite City alongside a half marathon and 5K.
The event follows the success of this summer’s inaugural Hydrasun Aberdeen Half Marathon and is part of plans to establish Aberdeen as a major destination for running events.
Steve Gray, founder of Aberdeen Marathon Company, said: “The response has been incredible and to sell out the marathon with almost a year still to go shows just how much appetite there is for a major running event in Aberdeen.
“We know there will be people disappointed to have missed out, so we would encourage anyone who still wants to run to join the waiting list.
"Places will become available as plans change over the coming months and we want to get as many people onto that start line as we can.”
