A packed Tivoli Theatre was treated to masterclass in personal growth and development by one of the UK's leading authors and podcasters last night.

Sunday Times bestseller Elizabeth Day discussed failure, friendships and how she built one of the UK's most-loved podcasts at the third event in the Ultimate Masterclass Festival, a series of six events designed by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce to inspire new thinking.

In conversation with BBC journalist Fiona Stalker, she shared her own experiences of failure and articulated how that when she removed both the fear and ego, saw the subject very differently.

Her conversations on the topic inspired the launch of her How to Fail podcast, which has now been downloaded over 40million times.

The event, which was attended by nearly 300 people, was sponsored by CALA and was the third Ultimate Masterclass Festival (UMF) event, a series of city centre events being delivered in partnership with TotalEnergies.

AGCC launched the Ultimate Masterclass Festival (UMF) as part of a six-figure investment in Union Street and the surrounding area.

The events – to be held throughout the year and across five city centre venues – will feature three internationally acclaimed best-selling authors, as well as business experts across a number of disciplines.

Headlining the festival at The Music Hall in October will be Steven Bartlett, star of television’s Dragon’s Den and one of the world’s most famous and respected entrepreneurs today.
