Aberdeen & Northern Marts, the core livestock division of ANM Group – one of Scotland’s leading farming co-operative businesses, is pleased to announce senior management changes within the company.
John Angus, the division’s cattle sales manager, has been promoted to head of livestock and will be supported by sheep sales manager Colin Slessor as deputy head of livestock, while Tim McDonald, auctioneer, steps into his new role as prime and cull cattle manager.
These changes take place following auction operations manager Alan Hutcheon’s decision to retire at the end of December.
Executive director of ANM Group, John Gregor, said: “Alan’s wealth of knowledge and experience working in the livestock industry has been a great asset to the group and we would like to thank Alan for his continued loyal service and wish him well in his retirement.
“Looking ahead, we are pleased to have a strong team in place led by John Angus. The team’s expertise, professionalism and strong reputation within the farming community will serve them well, as the they continue to deliver an excellent service to our members and customers.”
In addition to leading the marts division and auctioneering team, Mr Angus will continue to oversee the store cattle and canvassing of the business, ably supported by Mr Slessor, who remains responsible for the division’s sheep activity. Mr McDonald will lead the sale of the prime and cull cows during the weekly Thursday sale and continue selling store cattle over 400kg on Fridays.
Grant Rogerson, ANM Group chief executive, said: “We are very excited about the future and confident that John, Colin and Tim's progression in their new roles will ensure continuity of our services to members and customers alike. We look forward to working with the new management team in the New Year.”
