A £100,000 Covid memorial is set to be installed in Bon Accord Terrace Gardens three years on from the plans being unveiled.
The Remembering Together project, which is managed by Greenspace Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government, is funding the memorial.
The Press and Journal reports plans were initially approved for the memorial in 2024, but fresh proposals have now been submitted to the council for a different site in the park in a more accessible area.
Made from granite taken from demolished Aberdeen buildings, the memorial is intended to "stand as a testament to the challenges faced and overcome” during Covid.
Each stone on the memorial is to be engraved with a line of a poem based on the experiences of local people throughout the pandemic.
