SpinLab, Aberdeen’s first dedicated table tennis facility, has received equipment support from the ITTF Foundation, the charitable arm of the International Table Tennis Federation.
The Leipzig-based Foundation has donated 50 bats and more than 1,000 match balls to the South College Street venue, which opened in August. The Foundation approached SpinLab directly, having followed the project’s development over the past year.
The equipment will be used across SpinLab’s community programme, which includes school sessions, free weekly open nights, junior coaching, and morning sessions for the over-60s.
Murhad Hussain, founder of SpinLab, said: “We didn’t apply for this. The sport’s international foundation came to us. That says something about what is being built in Aberdeen.”
