Aberdeenshire-based subsea ROV inspection and intervention specialist, Film-Ocean, has opened a new office at the Cobalt Business Exchange near Newcastle — a significant step in the company's growth and a reinforcement of its commitment to delivering for clients across the offshore energy sector.
Ocean House in Ellon remains Film-Ocean's global headquarters and the centre of its operations, and the company continues to invest and grow its team there. The Newcastle office adds to that foundation, extending Film-Ocean's reach into a region of growing importance to the subsea and offshore energy industry, and giving the company additional depth and capacity as demand for its services continues to grow worldwide.
The new office will operate as an operational and project delivery base, strengthening project oversight, broadening Film-Ocean's technical support offering and building closer relationships with clients and partners across the region. This ultimately gives Film-Ocean's clients greater assurance of delivery as the company takes on more work, supported by the expertise and capability already firmly established in Aberdeenshire.
Environmental responsibility also informed the choice of location. Film-Ocean builds sustainability into everything it does. Its Ellon headquarters was designed with energy efficiency at its core, and the company sought a North East England base that reflected the same values. Cobalt Business Exchange, set within a 39-acre biodiversity park with wildflower meadows, extensive wildlife habitats and supported by dedicated carbon-reduction and sustainable travel initiatives, met that bar.
