Cairngorm Bothies and Cairngorm Lodges recently teamed up with regional tourism partners and VisitAberdeenshire at last month's Royal Highland Show to promote the area's growing outdoor adventure sector.

The collaboration formed part of a major showcase highlighting the North East Adventure Tourism (NEAT) project.

With Aberdeenshire taking center stage as the designated spotlight region for the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland presidential initiative, local businesses united to promote the region's adventures and activities.

The promotional initiative run by Visit Aberdeenshire brought together a variety of local experiences, featuring an accommodation stay at Cairngorm Bothies and Lodges alongside outdoor activities from Ride In Peace Adventures and Bothies & Bannocks. The package also integrated the Aberdeenshire Town Centres gift card initiative to encourage future regional spending.

The joint effort successfully highlighted the diverse attractions available in Aberdeenshire, particularly for the active travel market. The region continues to attract significant attention from the UK mountain biking (MTB) community, driven by the success of the neighbouring, award-winning Tarland Trails network.

Gordon Drummond, owner of Cairngorm Bothies and Cairngorm Lodges, said: "We absolutely loved being included as the accommodation stay for this incredible Aberdeenshire holiday prize draw at the Royal Highland Show.

"Huge thanks to William Clarke, Ashleigh Pirie, and the team at VisitAberdeenshire. It was great to share the spotlight with local operators like Ride In Peace Adventures and Bothies & Bannocks, and to support the Aberdeenshire gift card initiative.

"Working together is what makes our tourism sector thrive, and the NEAT project is vital for unlocking the economic potential of our natural landscape. By supporting the vibrant MTB community at Tarland Trails, we can collectively show that Aberdeenshire is a world-class destination whatever the weather and season."
