Are you an Abermoaner or an Aberlover?
That was the question put to business leaders at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Business Breakfast last week, as guests were asked whether they feel optimistic or downbeat about the future of Aberdeen and the North-east.
The Chamber used the breakfast to unveil its latest Investment Tracker, identifying £46billion of investment planned or underway across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
From major energy projects and new infrastructure to housing, regeneration and tourism, the tracker highlights the scale of development taking place across the region.
And after seeing the evidence, we asked some of those in the room a simple question: Are you an Abermoaner or an Aberlover?
The question follows the Chamber’s Abermoaners video, released last year to challenge the negativity which can sometimes surround the region and encourage people to speak up about the many good things happening here.
Guests at this year’s breakfast were given a first look at the sequel - Aberlovers - which sees the original Abermoaner characters return, but this time with a rather different outlook on their home city.
This year's Investment Tracker provides a powerful snapshot of the confidence being shown in the North-east, with billions of pounds being committed to projects which will create jobs, attract people and businesses and shape the region for decades to come.
And with £46billion in the pipeline, there is plenty of evidence to suggest the North-east has good reason to be optimistic about what comes next.
