A team from the Aberdeen office of law firm Addleshaw Goddard is set to look fantastic as they take part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk on Sunday, 7 June, raising funds for the firm’s UK charity partner The Honeypot Children’s Charity.
In the lead-up to the event, the Aberdeen office held a design competition for primary school pupils across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire – with pupils tasked with creating a T-shirt that the AG team members could wear on the day of the Kiltwalk. The initiative has given young people across the region an opportunity to contribute to raising awareness of both the Kiltwalk and Honeypot.
Local schools rose to the challenge with a huge number of wonderful entries making for a difficult decision for the AG judging team.
After much debate, the stunning winning design came from Bella Sweeney at Loirston Primary, with a fantastic creation by Bella Robertson from Meiklemill Primary coming in as runner-up. Both pupils received a prize for their efforts.
Addleshaw Goddard’s Aberdeen team is among the largest corporate groups taking part in the event, underlining its commitment to supporting charitable causes and engaging with the local community.
More than half of the Aberdeen office - around 18 colleagues - have signed up for the event, taking on a mix of the Wee Wander (4 miles) and the Mighty Stride (18 miles) routes, as they aim to raise as much as possible for the charity.
Honeypot supports children aged 5–12 who are young carers for a sick or disabled parent or sibling, providing respite breaks, wellbeing support and educational opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
David McEwing, Partner at Addleshaw Goddard and one of the team members, said: “We’re hugely proud of the response from colleagues across our Aberdeen office, as well as the enthusiasm we’ve seen from local schools through the T-shirt competition. Supporting The Honeypot Children’s Charity is incredibly important to us as a firm, and the Kiltwalk provides a fantastic platform to raise funds and awareness for the vital work it does.
“We’re looking forward to coming together with the wider Aberdeen community on the day - and showcasing the creativity of the young people who have helped design our team kit.”
