Alba Bagpipes helped recognise the contribution of tourism volunteers at the recent VisitAberdeenshire Volunteer Recognition Awards, held at the Douglas Hotel in Aberdeen.

The event celebrated volunteers who welcome cruise ship passengers arriving at Aberdeen's North and South Harbours. Collectively, the volunteers have contributed more than 1,000 hours helping visitors to the region enjoy a warm Scottish welcome.

Representatives from Alba Bagpipes, including pipers Rikki Evans and Robert, along with Highland dancers Kelsey and Michelle, provided entertainment for guests on arrival before performing ahead of the evening meal.

The event was particularly fitting for Alba Bagpipes, which regularly collaborates with corporate clients, tourism organisations, and travel trade partners to deliver Scottish cultural experiences for visitors to the country. Based in the North-east of Scotland, the multi award-winning entertainment company provides traditional piping, Highland dancing, and bespoke Scottish-themed experiences for a wide range of events and visiting groups. The business has become a familiar presence at tourism, corporate and community events across the region, helping highlight Scottish culture to audiences from around the world.

Rikki Evans, owner of Alba Bagpipes, said: "We were delighted to be invited to take part in the awards and help celebrate the volunteers who do so much to promote Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to visitors from around the world.

"These volunteers play an important role in creating a positive first impression of the region for thousands of cruise passengers each year. As a business that regularly helps deliver Scottish experiences for visitors, we see first-hand the value of that warm welcome and were honoured to be part of recognising their contribution."
