A century of stories to be celebrated in an original production marking 100 years on Queen’s Road.
Albyn School is calling on former pupils to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime celebration: a brand new musical created to mark the school’s 100 years on Queen’s Road.
This original production, written and produced by staff at the school, will take audiences on a captivating journey through the decades, celebrating the people, traditions and moments that have shaped the school’s history. Blending nostalgia with creativity, the show will showcase everything from the school’s early days at Queen’s Road in the 1920s to the vibrant, forward-looking Albyn of today, with songs from Fame, Les Miserables, Hairspray and many more musical classics to help tell the story.
To make the centenary celebration even more special, Albyn School is inviting former pupils to feature in the musical as performers. No musical theatre background is required, just enthusiasm and a love for Albyn. The school is looking for former pupils of all ages and backgrounds who are keen to get involved. It’s a welcoming community-driven project where energy, spirit and creativity matter most. The production will provide a unique opportunity for past and present pupils to come together, reconnect, and celebrate the school’s enduring legacy through the power of music and storytelling.
Laura Sinclair, Head of creative arts faculty at the school, and one of the creators of the musical, said: “We wanted to mark our 100 years on Queen’s Road in a truly memorable way - and what better way than to tell our story through music and theatre? This musical is a love letter to Albyn’s past, present and future, and we would be thrilled to have our former pupils join us in bringing it to life.”
Rehearsals and workshops will take place throughout the coming months, culminating in a spectacular performance at the Tivoli Theatre in Aberdeen on 17 and 18 March 2026. Alumni interested in taking part are encouraged to get in touch with the school to express their interest.
