The Asthma and Allergy Foundation is delighted to announce that Ben, Cameron and Matty, students of S4 at Alford Academy, have emerged victorious in the Youth & Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Challenge, championing our mission to raise awareness of asthma and its management.

The students’ campaign focused on asthma symptoms, triggers and the crucial steps to take when someone suffers an asthma attack. Their commitment over many months of preparation, culminating in the competition win, reflects both creativity and compassion in equal measure.

Thanks to their efforts, the funds raised will directly support the delivery of additional educational workshops reaching thousands of young people across the region. The Foundation also extends sincere gratitude to its Health Promotion Manager, Pam Cumming, for her close mentorship and guidance of the students throughout the project.

According to Martina Chukwuma-Ezike, CEO of Asthma and Allergy Foundation: “Our young winners have not only shown exceptional talent and heart, but they’ve also helped us spread the message that every young person can play a role in protecting respiratory health and saving lives.”

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation calls on schools, community groups and businesses interested in partnering with us to deliver impactful workshops to young people and support our mission of improving respiratory health across Scotland.
