A leading industrial software company specialising in subsea inspection and asset integrity management has doubled the size of its Aberdeen headquarters and announced plans to create new jobs.
Elementz – which announced turnover of £3million in its first full year of trading – has stepped up its presence in the city by doubling the size of its Bridge of Don office. The company currently employs 29 people with plans to further strengthen commercial, technical and software engineering teams with up to four more specialists before the end of this year.
In addition to creating more physical space for the team, the larger office will also facilitate better co-working with participants on the Tide Breaker programme which nurtures start-ups seeking to develop and test new methods by giving access to datasets to help them refine development of their solutions to better suit subsea operators’ needs.
Tide Breaker is backed by Compass, Elementz’s strategic advisory board, which brings together leading global subsea operators and asset owners. Through Tide Breaker, Compass members will define technical challenges, mentor participants, and evaluate outcomes for field deployment. The Data Lab, Scotland’s innovation centre for data and AI, is supporting Tide Breaker by advising on programme design, participant selection and helping to ensure robust, well-governed delivery. The expanded office also supports delivery of Linear, Elementz’s new pipeline integrity product, co-created directly with Compass members and currently in active development.
Commenting on the office expansion and anticipated job creation, CEO Jason Brown said: “Investing across the business puts us in the best possible shape to scale and deliver for our customers while continuing to expand beyond oil and gas. We are committed to growth that's deliberate and sustainable; we're focused on bringing in the right people, not just more people.
“A larger working environment will also improve our ability to engage with ecosystem partners and Tide Breaker participants, bringing their energy and collaboration directly into our space and we look forward to it creating a springboard towards further growth for all concerned.”
Gordon Pirie, Fund Manager at Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks added: “Elementz have been a valued part of the Enterprise Centre for the past two years and it’s been a pleasure to watch their growth. They are a dynamic, forward-thinking business and we’re proud to support their continued success at the Energy Park. Their expansion to more than double their space is a great milestone for both them and the wider park community.”
