Aberdeen-based FPSO operator Amplus Energy Services has strengthened its team with the appointment of Gary Begg as HSEQ Manager, as the company advances towards delivery of its flagship Kuda Tasi & Jahal project in Timor-Leste.

Amplus Energy Services is delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Begg as HSEQ Manager with effect from 11 May 2026. Gary brings significant operational HSEQ experience to the role, having held senior positions at ExxonMobil and Talisman before serving as North Sea HSE Manager at EnQuest for the past five years.

His appointment follows a planned handover from George Geddes, who retires after making an invaluable contribution to the business during its establishment phase.

Amplus Energy is an FPSO supplier and field development partner delivering flexible, fit-for-purpose solutions from concept to completion. With expertise across asset optimisation, FPSO supply and field development, Amplus provides a single, integrated interface for clients. Leveraging deep experience in managing mid‑ to late‑life assets, the focus is always on maximising value and performance.

The company’s most significant milestone to date is its Field Development Partnership with Finder Energy, targeting first oil on the Kuda Tasi & Jahal (KTJ) fields offshore Timor-Leste in late 2027.

Steve Gardyne, Managing Director, said: “Gary joins at a key moment as we advance the KTJ project. His experience at major international operators is exactly what we need as we move into active FPSO delivery. I’d also like to thank George for his invaluable HSEQ leadership during our establishment phase and wish him a well-deserved retirement.”

Gary Begg said: “I’m excited to join Amplus at such a pivotal stage and look forward to contributing to safe, high-quality FPSO delivery in Timor-Leste.”
