Andrew Leggat has successfully completed The Art of Leadership programme at EHL Hospitality Business School, one of the world’s leading hospitality management institutions.
Held in Lausanne, the intensive two-day leadership programme was undertaken through a scholarship awarded by HIT Scotland and brought together 16 hospitality professionals from across Scotland.
The programme combined academic learning with practical leadership development, covering key areas including service leadership, leadership styles, situational leadership, coaching techniques, and the core skills required to lead high-performing teams within hospitality environments.
Alongside the classroom sessions, participants experienced a curated food and beverage programme designed to showcase Swiss hospitality excellence. This included dining at the Michelin-starred Berceau des Sens, lunch at La Brasserie 1893, and a guided visit to the renowned Domaine du Daley vineyard.
Following completion of the programme, Andrew plans to share his learnings and experiences with colleagues across the Scotland hotel portfolio, including Millennium Hotel Glasgow and Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen. By applying the insights gained through the course in operational settings, he aims to support team development, strengthen leadership capability, and further enhance service excellence across the hotels.
Reflecting on the experience, Andrew described the programme as “an invaluable opportunity to gain fresh leadership perspectives, exchange ideas with industry peers, and explore international best practice within hospitality leadership.”
