ANM Group to kick-off Oor Wullie auction

ANM Group, Scotland’s leading co-operative and chosen auction partner for the largest national series of Oor Wullie auctions, is delighted to begin the charitable campaign with the first event commencing next week on Monday, September 16, at the Dundee Repertory Theatre.

A total of 200 life-sized Oor Wullie sculptures will be sold by ANM auctioneers Alan Hutcheon, Colin Slessor and Mark Barrack, with online bidding facilitated by Alan Donald. The auctions will be held across Scotland in Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow throughout the month of September.

Grant Rogerson, chief executive of ANM Group, said: “As a community-owned co-operative, ANM is delighted to be involved in this large-scale charitable campaign. This is the fourth major charity event in recent years that ANM has been involved in and our team of professional auctioneers will once again do a great job in delivering an excellent auction experience that raises vital funds for a host of worthy charities across Scotland.

“We’re pleased that Thainstone Centre is one of the chosen venues which will see a fantastic selection of sculptures go under the hammer on Tuesday, September 17, with proceeds donated in support of the ARCHIE Foundation. We look forward to the auction at Thainstone next week and wish the very best of luck to all the bidders.”

The auctions follow the conclusion of Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail, the first nationwide public arts trail covering 700 miles across Scotland during the summer. The goal of the trail is to raise funds for all of Scotland’s children’s hospital charities to provide the very best possible care and support for the combined half a million babies, children and young people who are seen each year.

There is a limited number of tickets available for the public to attend and bid at any of the auctions with pre-registration required. To register, please visit www.oorwullie.com/auctions and contact the appropriate representative for your desired auction.

Online bidding will be available for those unable to attend the auctions in person. Bidders will be able to register online, live stream the auction and place bids in real-time. To register for online bidding, please visit auction.anmarts.co.uk.
