Aon Risk Solutions, the global risk management business of Aon plc (NYSE: AON), has moved to a new office in Aberdeen in response to a promising period of growth.
The move, to newly refurbished premises in Bon Accord Square, follows a successful time for the Aberdeen branch, which has had a presence in the city for more than 50 years.
During 2015, the team has experienced a promising period of growth, despite the current energy climate, and forecasts a growth of up to 15% compared to the previous year.
The company has also invested more than £40,000 in the Bon Accord Square facilities, committing to a 10 year lease on the property.
Speaking at the office opening, which included a Q&A with former Aberdeen Football Club captain, Russell Anderson, and representatives from Manchester United Football Club, Aberdeen Branch Director, Karen Stewart, believed there were positive times ahead for Scottish business.
Karen said: “The outlook for the Aberdeen office into 2016 and beyond is extremely positive, and I am confident that the recent investment in our team, together with our move to new premises, will ensure we are in the best possible position to build upon this.
“Despite the current climate, and the undoubted air of uncertainty within the UK energy sector, we have seen significant inwards investment in UK companies from the US and Norway.
“We have been working with a number of new start companies who are looking towards the next stage of growth within the UK Continental Shelf. Companies which are committed to the sector and want to ensure they are positioned to service their clients when the market stabilizes.
“At Aon, we strive to provide our clients with the highest quality of service, which holds even more importance during periods of change within the market. Our move to larger, refurbished premises, along with the appointment of two new members to the team ensures we can continue to provide the quality of service our clients expect.”
Recent appointments include Ian Smith, who has joined the Aberdeen team as Client Manager, and Steven Black taking the position of Client Development Manager. The branch also aims to appoint two new members to the internal service team during the coming months.
Steve Redgwell, Managing Director, Aon Risk Solutions said “The new office in Aberdeen represents our ongoing commitment to growing our regional footprint across the UK. By strengthening our commitment to Scotland we are better able to serve our clients with greater local capability and expertise.”
