Apache North Sea’s offshore workforce is helping to save lives with their donation pipeline of support for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
A recent additional donation has now seen SCAA benefit from a total of £350,000 from Apache North Sea since 2019.
The oil and gas exploration and production company’s offshore bond committee has donated a further £50,000 donation which will continue to help SCAA fuel life-saving flights across the country.

The donation, which was generated by Apache’s workforce through the sales of confectionery and other items on its offshore platforms in the North Sea, is a further demonstration of Apache’s commitment to supporting emergency responders in Scotland.
The latest donation helped SCAA to upgrade the charity’s Aberdeen-based helicopter in time for the worst of Scotland’s winter weather.
Stuart Taylor, operational performance director, Apache, explained why they are so keen to support the life-saving work of the country’s only charity-funded air ambulance service.

“Safety is at the heart of everything we do,” he said, “and as an industry we know just how vital emergency responders are when it matters most. Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance provides a truly life-saving service, often reaching people in the most remote and challenging locations when every second counts.
“Our offshore workforce has shown incredible commitment in raising these funds, and we are proud to give back to a service that supports not just our industry, but communities right across Scotland. SCAA is an essential service, and we are honoured to support the life-saving work they do every day.”
SCAA CEO David Craig said the generosity of Apache’s offshore workforce had supported the recent commissioning of the charity’s new state-of-the-art H145 D3 helicopter – the most capable helicopter air ambulance of its kind in the country.
“This new aircraft has given SCAA enhanced range, endurance and capacity to serve Scotland’s most remote and challenging areas this winter,” said David.
“Thanks to supporters such as Apache’s offshore teams, our helicopters and crew ensure that help reaches those in need in time to make a difference – wherever they are in Scotland. The Apache workforce should be in no doubt that their donations are helping to ensure that no one in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help can’t get there in time. We can’t thank them enough for their ongoing support.”
