Appeal for local artists and volunteers to take part in globally renowned street art festival

Aberdeen Inspired is urging local artists and volunteers to take part in the globally renowned Nuart festival.

Bursting into life in the Granite City this spring, the artistic extravaganza is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading celebrations of street art.

Held annually in Stavanger since 2011, Nuart provides a platform for national and international artists to transform the walls of the city, both indoor and out, to create one of Europe’s most dynamic and constantly evolving public art events.

It is hoped the living art will breathe new life into the city centre and business organisation Aberdeen Inspired is keen to get more people involved in the exciting project.

Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We are hugely excited about the upcoming Nuart festival and world renowned artists we are bringing to the city, as well as giving local artists a big platform to showcase their work.

“The idea behind Nuart is to use street art to transform areas of the city centre and we are looking for volunteers to show their support and help out. This could take the form of hosting the artists, assisting them in production, helping on the walking tours, or helping to distribute information.

“We are also keen to involve local artists in Nuart and would like to invite any interested parties to get in touch with us. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a real artistic movement within Aberdeen, working alongside artists from around the globe and creating real talking points in the heart of the city centre.”

Any volunteers/local artists interested in taking part in Nuart are asked to contact Aberdeen Inspired by emailing info@aberdeeninspired.com
