Appetite for Business was delighted to welcome local MSP Jackie Dunbar as part of a tour organised by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to its Aberdeen HQ for a behind the scenes look at how Appetite is helping organisations across sectors unlock the power of technology.

As a multi award winning digital consultancy working with clients in energy, renewables, and beyond, the visit gave Appetite for Business the opportunity to share insights on the digital transformation challenges facing modern businesses and the practical solutions it's delivering every day.

The conversation explored everything from how to make digital tools truly accessible, to the growing demand for upskilling, automation, and data driven decision making all key to keeping the North-east competitive in a rapidly changing economy. The importance of investing in local people, with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and creating workplaces that work for everyone, was also discussed.

Colin Borland, FSB’s director of devolved nations, said the visit highlighted the value of innovative Scottish companies who are helping boost productivity and growth.  He said: “Innovative firms like Appetite for Business are crucial to the long-term success of our economy. It’s fascinating to see how they're helping organisations harness AI to modernise and thrive and what changes to the business landscape would help them do even more.”

Sheryl Newman, founder of Appetite for Business, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome both FSB and Ms Dunbar and have a meaningful conversation about the real world challenges and opportunities in our space. From accessibility and AI to women in tech and the skills gap it’s vital that our voices are heard at the policy level.”

The team at Appetite are proud to play a role in shaping a smarter, more inclusive digital future and are always open to sharing ideas on how business and government can work better together.
