Aberdeenshire headquartered multi-discipline construction and maintenance specialist, AquaTerra Group, has announced the award of two separate contracts with bp and Ithaca Energy to support a number of their North Sea assets.

A three-year contract will see AquaTerra providing specialist access and access led maintenance services across bp’s North Sea portfolio.

AquaTerra has supported Ithaca Energy with asset inspection for the past year on an ad hoc basis, this three-year contract for marine integrity services formalises the delivery of support AquaTerra provides for the company.

AquaTerra will provide marine focused inspection services, repair engineering, and multi-discipline repairs across all three of Ithaca Energy’s North Sea assets.

AquaTerra are partnering with Kent for engineering support and Forsyth’s for specialist welding support.

The extent of these contracts has meant that AquaTerra has increased their head count with a new Project Engineer to lead the delivery of the Ithaca Energy contract, with other appointments to follow.

Stephen Taylor, Managing Director of AquaTerra Group, added: “We strive to build strong relationships with our clients based on trust and integrity, and are delighted to be working with both bp and Ithaca Energy.”

“Within these challenging times for the industry, we recognise that there remains a strong requirement to protect operational integrity without compromising on safety. We are proud of our strong track record for delivering optimised asset maintenance and inspection that extends the operational life of critical producing assets in the North Sea.”

Russell Borthwick, Chief Executive at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce said: “This is a great example of companies from our world class energy supply chain working together and adapting to changing circumstances and demands, helping ensure that the North Sea continues to power our nation for many more decades to come”.

David Whitehouse, OEUK’s chief executive, said: “Long-term contracts like these awarded to Aquaterra are vital for bolstering confidence across the UK’s offshore energy supply chain. They provide the certainty and forward visibility that companies need to invest in people, technology, and innovation. When businesses can plan for the long term, they are empowered to deliver greater value and efficiency, driving regional growth and maintaining the UK’s global leadership in offshore energy services.“
