The Aramark Building Community (ABC) Day is an annual event seeing its employees volunteer to support local communities.

On Wednesday 15th April, members of its Aberdeen-based team volunteer at Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), starting with a tour of the building and learning about the many impactful services CFINE offers – including food bank provision, counselling support through Sunrise, educational programmes, and more.

Next came the challenge. Dividing into three teams, each were given basic ingredients, limited cooking utensils, and different scenarios, before being tasked with creating a main course and dessert to cover two days.

The purpose of the challenge was to highlight what it’s like for individuals living on low or no income – an eye‑opening reality that far too many people are facing in our local communities.

The worthy Aramark challenge winners were Natasha Gordon and James Duncan from the finance team!

To support CFINE, businesses and individuals can help by signing the Granite City Good Food Charter here

Aramark extends a massive thanks to Sam, Martin and Sean at CFINE for making it’s 2026 ABC Day one to remember.
