Ashtead Technology are the new winners of Run Garioch’s Cala 10K AGCC ‘Chamber Cup’.

The Westhill-based firm beat out teams from runners-up CNRL, PD&MS and Cala itself to win the trophy and a £100 donation to the charity of their choice.

The ‘Chamber Cup’ is awarded to the fastest team of four from a member organisation of the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce in Run Garioch’s Cala 10k.

The winners of the inaugural ‘Chamber Cup’, Altrad Sparrows, had hoped to defend their title, but were unable to field a full team on the day.

Matthew Brown, workshop manager at Ashtead Technology, said: “Taking part in the Cala 10K was a fantastic experience for the Ashtead Technology team and we’re incredibly proud to have won the 2026 Cala 10k AGCC ‘Chamber Cup’.

“It was great to be part of such a well-supported event alongside other local businesses, while also raising funds for SCAA and supporting the vital work they do across the region.”

The trophy was presented to team members Jack Ingram, Murray Hill, Matthew Brown and Lewis Robertson at Cala’s Conglass Brae (Inverurie) show home by RG2026 Event Manager Christine Appel.

Appel said: “Just five minutes separated the first and second teams in the competition this year, so it was certainly ‘game on’ for the runners. There’s no doubt a little bit of friendly competition is a great motivator, and we hope even more local businesses enter teams in 2027.”

Charlotte Lynch, Assistant Marketing Manager at Cala Homes (North), added: “We would like to say a massive well done to not only the team at Ashtead Technology, but everyone who took part in a race on the day.

“We were delighted to support Run Garioch and attend what was a truly fantastic event that brought so many people together.”

This year was the first year of premium housebuilder Cala’s sponsorship of Run Garioch’s main event. Over 825 runners took part in the sell-out Cala 10k, with Run Garioch as a whole attracting over 2,600 entrants.

Brown concluded: “The atmosphere on the day was brilliant and the support from the crowds really helped keep us motivated throughout the course. A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers and everyone who took part. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year in a bid to retain the AGCC Cup.”
