ATR Equipment Solutions is looking for a Mechanical Technician to carry out inspection, maintenance, repair and test of mechanical and diesel-powered equipment, both customer owned and within the hire fleet, including portable appliance testing of various electromechanical machines.
The candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, diagnosis, repair, servicing, and maintenance of a range of equipment, including paint pumps, Hydraclean units, transfer pumps, various blast pots, hand tools, needle guns, mag drills, bristle blasters, and grinders.
They will also disassemble, diagnose and repair a wide range of small to medium sized air powered and diesel operated mechanical machinery. Carry out regular plant and equipment visual safety inspections to ensure there are no faults or defects; reporting to the Supervisor and undertaking, as instructed, any remedial actions to maintain certification and availability. There will also be a requirement to disassemble, diagnose and repair, as required, large diesel driven equipment, e.g. HP and UHP jetting units, air compressors and pumps.
Completion of ATR Equipment Solutions supporting documentation i.e. job cards, inspection cards and test certificates will be a key responsibility and ensuring compliance with all risk assessments/COSHH assessments as per approved company QHSE policies and procedures. The candidate will carry out all housekeeping and act as an ambassador for safety demonstrating safe behaviours, living the ATR values and apply them in day-to-day activities.
The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
The candidate should hold an SCQF Level 7 Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or SCQF Level 7 or equivalent qualification in another discipline e.g. light vehicle repair. Formal water jetting qualification/certificate or member of Water Jetting Association would be desirable. Proven relevant work experience at a comparable level may be accepted in the absence of formal qualifications.
ATR is looking for a candidate who has a sound working knowledge of various mechanical and pneumatic tooling, blasting equipment, air driven transfer pumps, paint pumps and diesel equipment. A mechanical aptitude and ability to disassemble and assemble various mechanical and tooling equipment would be beneficial.
Experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of HP and UHP jetting units, air compressors, pumps, and diesel-driven equipment would be highly beneficial. The role also requires the ability to read, understand, and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and parts lists.
The ideal candidate should have a sound working knowledge of various mechanical and pneumatic tooling, blasting equipment, air driven transfer pumps, paint pumps and diesel equipment.
Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills would be advantageous and the ability to work to a high standard of workmanship, whilst working to tight deadlines in a safe and accurate manner. Proven work experience in a similar role(s) would be desirable, and the candidate should be hard-working, a team player, enthusiastic, committed and a reliable self-starter who can work independently, and as part of a team.
