Equipment rental and inspection services firm ATR is looking for an Electrical Technician to carry out inspection, maintenance, repair and testing of electrical equipment, both customer owned and within the hire fleet.
The role will also include Portable Appliance Testing of all electrically operated equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the disassembly of equipment, Individual Component Inspection and should be able to competently use and understand the Portable Appliance Test Machine.
Main tasks, responsibilities and duties will include inspect, repair and electrically test & function of non-Atex rated items such as extension cables, industrial transformers, junction boxes, flood lamps, heaters and dehumidifiers. Inspect, repair, electrically test & function test more complex Atex rated items such as transformers, Atex rated lighting such as slam hornets, evo juniors, flood lamps and battery-operated wolf lamps.
Inspect, repair, electrically test & function test 3 phase equipment such as mains distribution units, transformers and heaters and inspect, repair, electrically test, calibrate & function test all types of welding equipment. The role will also require compliance with the requirements of the job description and company HSSEQ policies and procedures. The candidate may be asked to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements. Job card completion and housekeeping will also be part of the role.
The ideal candidate will hold an MA in Electrical Maintenance or a similar electrical qualification, such as SVQ Level 3, or have relevant experience in a similar role.
Good communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential. The successful candidate should also be able to use their own initiative, be self-motivated, reliable and work effectively as part of a team.
COMPEX and ATEX qualifications would be desirable, along with a full driving license and manual handling skills.
