Equipment rental solutions and inspection services firm ATR has returned to independent ownership following its acquisition by Managing Director Keith Moorhouse.
The deal sees Mr Moorhouse back at the helm of the Aberdeen-based business he first purchased in 2007. He led the company through a decade of significant growth before it merged with Centurion Group in 2017.
Under his leadership, ATR increased its rental fleet, diversified its service offering, expanded internationally, and created long-term relationships with several leading operators and contractors in the energy sector. Following the merger with Centurion, he remained with the organisation as regional president UK and Europe until last year, when he stepped away to pursue other interests.
At ATR, he plans to build on the company’s strong market position to drive forward expansion plans over the next three years, including exploring new prospects across established energy markets and emerging sectors.

ATR employs 66 people across its operations in Denmore Road, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, and Great Yarmouth. It has a fleet of 40,000 assets available for hire and mobilisation.

While international expansion is on the horizon, Mr Moorhouse reinforced the importance of the local market.
“Aberdeen has been our base for over 30 years and it remains important to us. Maintaining a local supply chain will be essential to support the wider economy and will be a key priority moving forward. I’m Aberdeen born and bred and the region has been good to me, so I want to be good to Aberdeen.”
