Aberdeen City Council is upgrading its automated payment systems, including cash and card payments, for all services.

The upgrade is required to ensure the City Council complies with new security standards for taking payments from payment cards, and also gives an opportunity to make improvements to the way card payments are taken online.

During October, a new Civica e-store web payment portal will be introduced which is an improved interface for the customers who choose to make payments online. The e-store system is fully mobile compatible and includes basket functionality allowing for several payments to be made at once, a “my account” feature which allows customers to save their details for recurring use, and customers can also save transactions to easily repeat them on a monthly basis.

Due to the upgrade taking place, there will be a 24 hour period where automated systems will be unavailable for card payments in council offices and for phone and internet payments.

This will start at 12noon on Tuesday, September 22 and end at 12noon on Wednesday, September 23. During this period, cash offices will be open to receive cash and cheque payments and for queries and advice. The self-service kiosks in Marischal College and the Allpay service in shops will not be affected.
