Aberdeen audiovisual and creative technology specialist AV One Solutions is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade which has seen the business grow from a one-man start-up into an award-winning company.
Managing Director Graeme McGuire founded AV One in September 2016, taking the leap to establish his own business after almost two decades working in the audiovisual industry.
Starting out on his own, Graeme had grown the team to four within just two months and AV One recorded turnover of £700,000 in its first year. Ten years later, the Bridge of Don-based company has a team of 14 and annual turnover of over £2 million, delivering audiovisual, workplace technology, live event and creative solutions for organisations across Scotland, the UK and beyond.
The milestone comes during another significant year for AV One as the company expanded its capabilities with the launch of a new 3D animation services and continued to invest in its growing team.
Named winner of the Customer First Award at the 2026 Northern Star Business Awards, AV One is currently shortlisted for Public Sector Project of the Year at the international AV Awards for its work on The James Hutton Institute's Immersive Visualisation Suite in Aberdeen.
Managing Director Graeme McGuire
Graeme said: "It's hard to believe 10 years have passed since I started AV One. We've grown enormously in that time and delivered projects that I'm incredibly proud of, but the biggest achievement for me is the team and the business we've built together.
"AV One has always been about people. We have a brilliant team, fantastic clients and strong relationships with partners and suppliers, many of whom have been with us for years. We simply wouldn't be celebrating this milestone without them."
The audiovisual industry has transformed during AV One's first decade, with rapid advances in technology changing how organisations communicate, collaborate and deliver events.
AV One has evolved alongside those changes, growing beyond its traditional audiovisual and live events expertise to offer workplace technology, immersive environments, video production, animation and digital content.
While the technology has changed, Graeme says the approach behind the business has remained consistent.
"Our job has always been to listen to the client, understand what they're trying to achieve and find the right solution. Technology will continue to evolve, but good service, trust and doing what you say you're going to do never go out of date."
As AV One enters its second decade, the company plans to build on the momentum of recent years, continuing to invest in its people and capabilities while pursuing further growth opportunities.
Graeme added: "Ten years is definitely something to celebrate and I'm hugely proud of how far we've come, but there's still a lot we want to achieve.
"We've got a great team, we're working on some really exciting projects and there's a lot of ambition for where we take AV One next. I'm looking forward to seeing what the next 10 years bring."
