A North-east AV business has raised over £8,000 for two local charities following its first ever charity golf day.

AV One Solutions hosted its inaugural Charity Golf Day at Kemnay Golf Club on Friday 27 June, welcoming 18 teams for a day of fun competition and fundraising. Funds were raised through team entry fees, an event raffle, and a charity auction, with all proceeds being split equally between Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust and Charlie House.

Managing Director Graeme McGuire said: “It was a fantastic day of golf, fun, and fundraising. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, and took part in the auction. The support from local businesses and the wider community really helped us smash our target, and a big thank you to our event sponsors whose generosity made the day possible.”

Adding to the fundraising total was AV One’s tongue-in-cheek "Bid for the Bosses" auction, which saw Graeme and Business Development Manager Grant Maclean offering themselves up to the highest bidders for a full day’s work. They’ll now find themselves reporting for duty with winning bidders – Ian Gauld from Streamtec and Sandy McNaughton from CS•FM – who will get to put the pair to use however they see fit, with all proceeds going to the charities.

Grant Maclean said: “We like to do things a bit differently and if it raises money and gives people a laugh at the same time, even better. It’s all for a great cause and we’re looking forward (with some nervousness!) to seeing how our winners decide to use their day. Watch this space!”

The chosen charities, Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) and Charlie House, both play a vital role in the north-east community. AFC Community Trust, the official charity of Aberdeen Football Club, empowers individuals across Aberdeen through football, health, and community outreach programmes. Charlie House works across North-east Scotland to support babies, children, and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for families facing exceptional challenges, offering emotional and practical support through dedicated services and events.

“As a local business, we care deeply about giving back,” Graeme added. “Both these charities do amazing work and we’re proud to play a small part in helping them do even more.”
