A key member of staff at a well known North-east legal firm has scooped a prestigious industry award in recognition of her work in the property sector.
Laurie & Co partner Stephanie Mann beat off stiff competition in the inaugural BWS Women in Law Awards to take the top spot in the commercial property/residential property category. The awards, which attracted more than 200 entries in their first year, celebrate the outstanding achievement, leadership and contribution of women working across the legal profession.
Stephanie heads up Laurie & Co’s property and estate agency department, where she specialises in conveyancing and property law. With an extensive and in-depth knowledge of the North-east market, Stephanie primarily advises clients on the sale, purchase and remortgage of residential property. She is a post graduate lecturer at Robert Gordon University and teaches conveyancing in the Diploma for Professional Legal Practice in Scotland.
Her success comes on the back of a strong year for Laurie & Co in 2025. In the company’s 70th anniversary year, it reported property sales exceeding £20million across its offices in Aberdeen, Aboyne and Ballater. The firm’s unique portfolio of urban, suburban and rural properties, offered across the three locations, is supported by a 22-strong team awash with maximum local insight and consistent high standards.
Commenting on her success, Stephanie said: “I’m thrilled to receive this award, particularly given the calibre of the other finalists across this and all the other categories.
"I am extremely fortunate to be well supported by colleagues and clients who make the work so rewarding and I am grateful to them for the role they continue to play in shaping my career.”
