Following a successful inaugural year, RGC’s activity camps with a difference are returning in summer 2026, offering children from across Aberdeen and the North East the chance to explore music, dance and creativity during the school holidays.
Open to
pupils from any school, the activity camps complement the wider RGC Camps
programme, providing teacher-led experiences in a safe and supportive
environment. This summer's programme features Highland Dance Camp, Pipe Band
Camp and Puppet-Crafters Camp, giving children the opportunity to develop new
skills, build confidence and make new friends while having fun.
The return
of the camps follows excellent feedback from families who attended last year’s
programme. One Pipe Band Camp parent commented: “The instructors were beyond
amazing and my children made memories that will last a lifetime.” A
Puppet-Crafters Camp parent added: “Very friendly, well organised, great
activities and experiences - the nursery audience for the final show was a nice
addition.”
New for 2026, Highland Dance Camp invites boys and girls of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced competitive dancers, to immerse themselves in Scotland’s rich cultural heritage while learning traditional dances and performance techniques. Returning favourites Pipe Band Camp and Puppet-Crafters Camp will once again provide engaging opportunities for aspiring musicians and creative minds alike.
Alongside these activity camps, RGC Camps will once again deliver its popular sports camps programme, offering football, hockey, rugby and netball opportunities for children of all abilities.
The sports camps also continue to receive outstanding feedback from families. One parent said: “Lovely experience for both current and external pupils, with RGC pupils providing a warm and supportive welcome to children who may not have experienced the Countesswells campus or coaches previously.”
