Bancon Group has won the Culture Transformation Project of the Year category at this year's cHeRries Awards, recognising its work to strengthen workforce engagement and culture across its construction, timber frame and housebuilding operations.
The annual awards, held on 18 June at P&J Live, celebrate excellence in HR, people development and organisational culture across Scotland.
Over the past 18 months, Bancon Group has delivered a wide-ranging programme to improve employee engagement, collaboration and long-term workforce development, to reinforce its core values of One Team, We Care, We Trust, Sustainability and Development.
As part of the transformation, Bancon has set up new wellbeing and engagement initiatives, a leadership development programme spanning site and office teams, and communication channels to ensure projects and departments are better connected.
Working groups, mental health first aiders, mentors, managers and colleagues with decades of experience have all contributed, to produce a culture that is inclusive, supportive and built to perform. The result is a programme shaped in collaboration with the people doing the work.
Donna Fraser, HR director at Bancon Group, said: "Winning this award means a great deal to everyone at Bancon Group, and recognises the collective effort across our business. Culture change at this scale, across construction, manufacturing, and our offices, only works when colleagues at every level commit, and we have been genuinely impressed by the engagement we've seen right across our business.
"The construction sector faces skills shortages and real delivery pressures, but our response has been to invest in our people, to create a more connected and better performing workforce across construction, housebuilding and timber frame manufacturing. The result is a more cohesive business, delivering high-quality projects across Scotland."
With more than 50 years of experience, Bancon Group has built its reputation on quality, craftsmanship and community-focused development.
Winning the cHeRries Award highlights the contribution of Bancon Group's people and reflects its ongoing commitment to developing talent, maintaining strong leadership and investing in the business for the long term.
