Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, part of the UK’s leading housebuilder Barratt Redrow, has received the maximum 5 star rating in the new Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual new Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey.
This is the seventeenth year in a row that Barratt Redrow has achieved the top 5 star rating – no other housebuilder comes close to matching that record. To mark the achievement parent company Barratt Redrow is donating £25,000 to the Construction Youth Trust.
The number of stars a housebuilder receives is based on survey responses from customers after both an eight-week and nine-month period, asking them about how satisfied they are with the service they have received and their home’s build quality. For Barratt and David Wilson Homes to have been awarded 5 stars means that its customers are very satisfied with their build quality and the service they have received. The two businesses continue to create high quality communities in some of Scotland’s most scenic and popular locations, from West Craigs in Edinburgh to St Andrews in Fife, South Lanarkshire and Aberdeenshire.
The HBF New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey is one of the largest surveys of its type in the country, with around 50,000 people taking part in it who have recently bought a new build home. The simple 1-5 star rating system was developed to give customers an easy to view ranking of which housebuilders have the most satisfied customers.
Neil Jefferson, Chief Executive of the Home Builders Federation, said: “This year’s Customer Satisfaction Survey results reflect the industry’s ongoing commitment to service quality. Customers are the ultimate judges of performance, so receiving such high scores based on their feedback alone is a significant achievement.”
The new 5 star rating comes on top of Barratt and David Wilson Homes having success at the NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. The competition is known as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, with Barratt Redrow site managers UK wide winning 115 Pride in the Job Quality Awards last year, more than any other housebuilder for a record 21 years in a row.
