Befriend a Child is delighted to announce WM Donald as the headline sponsor of its upcoming Emerald City Ball that will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Chester Hotel, with doors opening from 6.30pm through to late.
Guests will be transported to a dazzling, Oz-inspired world for an evening of glamour, fine dining, entertainment and fundraising, all set against the luxurious backdrop of one of Aberdeen’s most iconic venues. With immersive Emerald City theming, sparkling green details and touches inspired by the magical land of Oz throughout the night, the event promises a truly unforgettable experience, bringing together supporters, businesses and the local community to celebrate and support Befriend a Child’s vital work.
Befriend a Child is a local children’s charity dedicated to supporting children and young people across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who are growing up in difficult life circumstances. Through 1:1 befriending and mentoring, youth clubs and its Family Support Project, the charity helps children build confidence, develop positive relationships and experience opportunities they may not otherwise have access to. By creating safe, supportive and consistent connections, Befriend a Child works to improve wellbeing and create brighter futures for children facing factors such as abuse and neglect, social isolation, low self-confidence, parental mental health and much more.
