Children’s charity Befriend a Child is delighted to announce that it will be taking part in the Grampian Wellbeing Festival by hosting a special Open Doors Day at its headquarters on Thursday May 14.

Between 11am and 2pm, members of the public are warmly invited to visit the charity’s HQ, meet the staff team, learn more about the wide range of services provided by the organisation and enjoy a tour of the office facilities. Visitors will also have the opportunity to find out more about volunteering opportunities, upcoming fundraising events and ways to get involved in supporting local children and young people.

The Grampian Wellbeing Festival brings together organisations and communities across the North-east to promote positive mental health and wellbeing through a diverse programme of free events and activities. Developed by NHS Grampian and Aberdeenshire H&SCP, Aberdeen City HSCP and Moray HSCP, the festival encourages connection, community support and conversations around wellbeing for people of all ages.

As a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people facing difficult life circumstances across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, Befriend a Child is proud to be involved in an initiative that champions wellbeing, inclusion and community connection.

Jenna Simpson, Senior Fundraising Co-ordinator at Befriend a Child, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be taking part in this year’s Grampian Wellbeing Festival and opening our doors to the local community. At Befriend a Child, we see first-hand the positive impact that connection, friendship and support can have on the wellbeing of children and young people.

We would encourage anyone who would like to learn more about our work, is considering volunteering, or simply wants to meet the team and see what we do, to pop along and say hello. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone on the day.”

No booking is required and all are welcome to attend between 11am and 2pm. Further information about the Grampian Wellbeing Festival can be found here - https://www.nhsgrampian.org/wellbeingfestival/
