Bertling Group, a leading international provider of logistics and shipping solutions, has announced the acquisition of Pfaff International GmbH, a well-established logistics company based in Baienfurt in southern Germany.

Integrating Pfaff will significantly strengthen Bertling’s European footprint, adding logistics offices and teams in southern and northern Germany as well as Rauma/Finland to the network.

Access to Pfaff’s extensive local and European client network, built by their experienced teams over the years, will enable Bertling to expand its service offerings.

The overall goal is to deliver greater value to existing customers while unlocking new growth opportunities in the region by combining the strengths of both organisations.

Pfaff’s existing customers can expect a seamless transition and continuity of service from their existing account managers, who will continue to provide the high-quality service they have become accustomed to.

As the transition progresses, customers will have access to an expanded range of logistics solutions and systems designed to meet their increasingly complex needs, such as global heavy-lift/engineering and air freight solutions.

“This acquisition marks an important milestone in our growth strategy in Central Europe,” said Colin MacIsaac, CEO of Bertling Logistics.

“Germany is where our company was founded and it has always been a key logistics hub for us. By joining forces with Pfaff, we are expanding our network in Germany and enhancing our ability to support customers with an even stronger German expert team.”

Peter Kienle, Managing Director at Pfaff added: “We are excited to become part of the Bertling Group. Our shared commitment to quality and customer service combined with our ‘cando’ attitude makes our companies an excellent fit. Together, we will combine our strengths, systems, and expertise to better support our customers and drive future growth.”

The integration will focus on combining the expert teams, systems and standards, and operational processes from both organisations while Pfaff will grow into the Bertling organisation.

“Our entire team is excited about Pfaff joining our global organisation”, said Hendrik Bulmahn, Managing Director of the Bertling Group.

“We are dedicated to ensuring a seamless integration that respects what Pfaff stands for and has achieved since its foundation 15 years ago. We will ensure that Pfaff’s success story continues, and we look forward to jointly becoming the logistics partner of choice in Germany and beyond, in line with our motto: ‘Together we grow’.

"Finally, we would like to thank the Shareholders and Management of Pfaff for their support so far. This provides an excellent foundation on which to grow both companies and teams together.”
