This week, Aberdeenshire-based Bethan Customs Consultancy is celebrating a major milestone: it’s 10th birthday!
What began in 2015 from a spare bedroom has grown into a purpose-built office, a dedicated team of six (with one remote member), and a client base that spans energy, renewables, retail, manufacturing, and beyond. At its heart, Bethan has remained proudly independent ensuring advice is impartial, practical, and always focused on what’s best for the client.
Founder and Managing Director Nicola Alexander said: “Reaching 10 years is a proud moment for us. From the very beginning, I vowed that Bethan would always be independent by never being tied to a freight forwarder or financial institution and never checking our own homework by doing declarations. That principle has never changed, and it’s one of the reasons we’ve earned the trust of our clients.
"We’ve also introduced our four values: We Care, We Trust, We Embrace Change, We Are Curious, which play a huge role in how we work as a team and with our clients. They’re a clear marker of who we are now, and where we’re heading.”
The 10-year celebration in Aberdeen brought together clients, partners, and friends to reflect on the past decade, while also shining a light on the future.
Adding to the birthday celebrations, Bethan successfully passed its ISO reassessment during the same week reinforcing its commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Looking ahead, Bethan is excited to build on its track record with new bespoke training programmes in development, continuing to equip businesses with the tools and confidence they need to thrive in a changing customs landscape.
A decade down, but the best is still to come.
