Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is proud to introduce a series of relaxed sessions in partnership with P&J Live and local charity, We Too, a leading advocate for accessible events in the region.

Launching on Monday 28th July 2025, these sessions will take place on every Monday and Tuesday from 2pm to 3.30pm until the exhibit closes on the 10th August 2025.

Designed specifically for individuals who may find typical environments overwhelming, the relaxed sessions will operate at a reduced capacity, allowing a more flexible, calmer experience. As part of the collaboration, We Too will provide a visual guide to support visitors, expertly trained staff will be on site, and a dedicated sensory breakout area has been created throughout the sessions. The aim is to ensure the exhibition is welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone especially those who benefit from sensory-friendly environments.

We Too, based in the North-east of Scotland, is known for its commitment to inclusion and for producing sensory-friendly “What’s On” guides for families and individuals with additional support needs. The organisation has played a key role in shaping the structure of the relaxed sessions to meet the needs of neurodiverse audiences.

Phionna McInnes, chief executive of We Too, said: "I am thrilled to be working alongside Beyond Van Gogh and P&J Live to bring another accessible event to the city - right on the back of the Tall Ships and our Dream Night with Codona’s. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic, inclusive summer in Aberdeen for both residents and visitors alike.”

Relaxed Sessions will take place across these dates and times:

  • Monday 28th July 2:00pm – 3:30pm
  • Tuesday 29th July 2:00pm – 3:30pm
  • Monday 4th August 2:00pm – 3:30pm
  • Tuesday 5th August 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Produced by Annerin Productions and Paquin Entertainment Group, Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience blends more than 300 of the post-Impressionist icon’s paintings with cutting-edge technology and a specially curated musical soundtrack to tell the story of one of history’s most influential artists, with people able to wander through iconic works - including The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Terrace of a Café at Night - as they came alive around them.

Anna Parry, UK Business Development at Annerin Productions, said: “We believe art should be accessible to all, and these relaxed sessions help ensure everyone has the opportunity to experience Van Gogh’s world. We’re grateful to work with We Too and P&J Live to make this vision a reality."

Claire-Lena Miller-Davis, exhibition sales manager at P&J Live, said: “So far, the response to Beyond Van Gogh in Aberdeen has been phenomenal. We’re proud to be working with We Too to make this incredible exhibition even more accessible. These relaxed sessions are a step toward creating an inclusive space for all members of our community.”
