The biggest Aberdeen Restaurant Week kicks off on Monday, January 22 with a lineup of almost 80 restaurants and cafes taking part in the hugely popular celebration of fine food.
Staged by Aberdeen Inspired, the event puts the spotlight on a dizzying array of restaurants, bars and cafes offering fantastic deals and special menus to delight discerning diners throughout the foodie fortnight.
And to make things even tastier, Aberdeen Inspired has now secured special deals with six hotels to offer special packages for food fans wanting to make the most of their evening with an overnight stay in town.
All of this, along with 16 restaurants taking part for the first time and special offerings including Burns Suppers and tastings, cooking masterclasses and even the chance to explore your arty side, means this will be an Aberdeen Restaurant Week to remember.
Shona Byrne, project manager for Aberdeen Inspired, said: “We were thrilled when we were able to expand Aberdeen Restaurant Week to become the biggest yet, thanks to the support of the Regional Food Fund.
“And now we are almost beyond excited by the range and quality of the 79 restaurants taking part, not to mention the enthusiasm and passion they are showing for being part of Aberdeen Restaurant Week.
“We are so pleased to be able to offer diners such a tempting range of cuisines, from the finest home-grown Scottish fayre to flavours and dishes from literally the four corners of the world. It’s a chance for people to discover new favourites and revisit some of their treasured spots – all at prices that won’t break the bank.”
Some of the restaurants joining the line-up in the past few days include Rendezvous at Nargile, Figment Coffee, Travanacore and The Silver Darling.
The hotels offering Aberdeen Restaurant Week special stays are The Station Hotel, Douglas Hotel, Copthorne Hotel, ALoft, Hilton and The Sandman with prices starting from just £59.
Shona said the foodie fortnight will attract thousands of people into the city centre while giving participating venues a major boost at what is a traditionally quiet time for the hospitality sector.
“Team Aberdeen Inspired has set the table for a fantastic feast of foodie fortnight fun – our best yet. It’s over to you to delve in and enjoy,” said Shona.
Aberdeen Restaurant Week will see venues offering menus priced at £10, £15, £20, £25 or £30 or a tasting menu with the price set by the restaurant.
The special Burns suppers, or Burns-inspired menus, are being offered by The Albyn, Esslemont, 210 Bistro, The Terrace and The Globe.
For art lovers, Second Home Studio + Café on Gaelic Lane offers the chance to take part in a “mystery art project”, while Namaste Delhi offers a 30-minute “taster” cooking class.
