Recognised for his exceptional leadership and strategic vision, Derek Harcus, chief financial officer at Bilfinger Engineering & Maintenance UK, was awarded CFO of the Year at the inaugural Finance & Accountancy Business Awards.
Fiona Campbell, Project Controlling Lead, was also highly commended in the Excellence in Finance category, which honours outstanding performance in financial management and those who drive financial success while embracing innovation and strategic thinking.
The FAB Awards have been created to recognise professionals who set the benchmark for excellence in finance and accountancy across North-east Scotland.

Upon graduating with a degree in Accounting and Finance, Derek began his career in finance at Weatherford before joining Bilfinger Salamis as a management accountant. He broadened his experience at Cosalt Offshore, where he held finance manager responsibilities, before returning to Bilfinger 14 years ago as Financial Controller. In 2014 he was promoted to Finance Director, and a decade later in January 2024 Derek was appointed Regional CFO E&M UK, which encompasses numerous UK businesses and Bilfinger Danmark A/S.
Derek is qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and sits on the Executive Board of numerous Bilfinger entities in the UK.
