The Miscarriage Information Support Service participated in this year’s Birth Trauma Awareness Week held on the July 19-24.

MISS founder Abi Clarke teamed up with the Pregnancy After Loss support coordinator Louise Dredge to organise a range of speakers, which were broadcast live on their Pregnancy After Loss Facebook page.

The programme featured talks from hypnotherapists, reflexologists, postnatal and baby loss doulas, and a speaker from Man Chat. The week was drawn to a close with an emotional reflection from two MISS followers who opened up about their experiences of miscarriage and birth trauma.

When reflecting on the success of MISS’ involvement in this year’s Birth Trauma Awareness Week, Louise said “The week was well received and we had great engagement and interaction - with a few comments noting how proud they were of the people sharing their stories and how brave people had been. We hope to take part in future awareness weeks to help our members and followers.”
