Bon Accord Care strives every day to make a positive difference to the people they support. This is made possible by the incredible staff, and the organisation wants to shine a light on the outstanding work they do.

To recognise the impact staff and teams make, Bon Accord Care recently launched the Recognising RITA Awards. These awards celebrate individuals and teams who go the extra mile while living the organisation’s values, helping to embed a culture of success and appreciation across the workforce.

Peter Murray, Chair of the Board said: “The recent introduction of the RITA awards has been the culmination of a lot of hard work, particularly on the communications team. The Board wishes to express its thanks for all involved in getting this important initiative off the ground.

"The first round of nominations and subsequent awards are a significant testament to the excellent work that goes on day in day out in BAC. Nominations have come from a range of sources and have cut across the spectrum of all levels and roles that work in the organisation. It is a particular delight to observe the positive culture that is reflected through colleague’s desire to point out the contribution of colleagues. Well done to all of those first recipients and we very much look forward to many more nominations.”

As a result of these awards, staff that have received a nomination have shared some feedback on how the award has had an impact on them.

Paulene Monaghan, service supervisor at Kingswood Day Centre said: “I received a lovely nomination from my team for a RITA award.

"I was absolutely delighted to get one of the first RITA awards, and I loved that the team took the time to nominate me for a job that I just love to do.

"I have this proudly displayed in the centre and the service users were involved in my receiving of this too. If it was not for them also, I would not have received the award. It is a team effort in what we do at the centre.”

Nicky Fraser, project manager said: “It meant a lot that someone had thought to nominate me for a RITA award – that was very touching. Getting a certificate and a badge was a nice surprise and will be a good reminder, especially if I’m having a tough day, that I’m maybe not doing as bad as I think I am.”

Hong, support worker said: “Thanks to my lovely colleagues who was using the very kind words to nominate me, and our management who chose for me to win a RITA Award. The award made me happy, felt valued and proud of myself. It gives me more confidence to continue working with Bon Accord Care, providing high quality services to our service users, and carrying on with our good teamwork. Thanks again for all of your support and appreciation!”

A huge well done to everyone who received a Recognising RITA Award!
