Technology and cyber security provider Brightridge has appointed well-known North-east IT services professional Greig Scott as Sales Director, further strengthening its Aberdeen team as the business continues its expansion in the region.
Greig, who joined Brightridge on 1 October, brings almost 20 years’ experience across managed IT, connectivity, communications, infrastructure and cyber security. Originally from Glasgow and based in Aberdeen for much of his career, he has built an extensive network and long-standing client relationships across Scotland and the wider UK.
He joins from cyber security specialist Closed Door Security, which will continue to work in partnership with Brightridge.
The appointment follows the opening of Brightridge’s Aberdeen office earlier this year and the appointment of Commercial Director Andy McKay, as the Livingston-headquartered company continues to invest in its North-east presence.
Iain Bett, Founder and CEO of Brightridge Technology, said: “Greig is extremely well known and trusted within the technology and business community and has an excellent track record in our industry.
“We hadn’t planned to make this appointment quite yet, but when someone with Greig’s experience became available, we knew we had to move quickly. That reflects the faith we have in him and the impact we believe he can have on the business.
“Greig’s strength is his ability to understand the bigger picture for a client rather than looking at individual products in isolation. That fits perfectly with where Brightridge is today and with the way clients increasingly want to work with their technology partners.
“As a Managed Security Service Provider, we can support customers across their wider IT and security requirements, from initial assessment and remediation through to accreditation and ongoing support. Bringing Greig into the team is another significant step in our growth and our ambitions for the North-east.”
Greig’s immediate priority will be engaging with existing Brightridge clients, ensuring they are getting the best value from their current services and introducing capabilities which may not have been available when their relationship with the company began.
Those conversations will include looking across clients’ existing technology and security arrangements, identifying potential gaps and ensuring they are benefiting from the most appropriate solutions for their organisation.
Greig Scott said: “I’m really looking forward to working in a familiar market again and reconnecting with businesses and people I’ve worked with over many years.
“What attracted me to Brightridge was the opportunity to get back to working across a wider MSP portfolio. I want to understand a client’s entire IT estate; what they already have, how it is working for them and where we can genuinely add value, because that’s where the opportunities to strengthen security and improve efficiency become clear.
“Brightridge has added significant capability in a relatively short period, particularly around cyber security, and can now support clients through the whole journey - from assessment and remediation to achieving the appropriate accreditation and helping maintain that standard.
“My initial focus will be spending time with our existing clients and making sure they are benefiting from everything we can now provide. Beyond that, there’s a real opportunity to do something special in the North-east while continuing to grow across Scotland and the wider UK.”
Greig will be predominantly based in Aberdeen, while regularly spending time with colleagues at Brightridge’s Livingston headquarters. His remit covers sales growth across the UK.
