Aberdeenshire engineering specialist Brimmond has recorded its busiest rental month of 2026 to date, with 52 active equipment rentals operating globally throughout July and zero downtime attributed to equipment failure.

The Kintore-based company delivered a combined 1,916 equipment hire days during the month, supporting customer projects across the UK, Spain, Turkey, Egypt, Dubai, West Africa, Brazil and Australia.

Rental equipment was deployed across a diverse range of projects spanning oil and gas, decommissioning, aquaculture and renewables, reflecting continued demand for Brimmond’s specialist hydraulic, lifting and pumping equipment.

July saw 100% utilisation across Brimmond’s Power Reeler™ and NetJet™ rental fleets, alongside three active crane rentals. The company’s centrifugal pumps were also deployed to support a renewables project in the North Sea.

Alan Glennie, Technical Director at Brimmond said: “July was an incredibly busy month for the rental team, but what stands out for me isn’t simply the number of rentals we had operating – it’s that we achieved zero downtime as a result of equipment failure across 1,916 hire days.

With equipment operating across multiple countries, sectors and challenging environments, that level of reliability takes a significant effort behind the scenes. Our rental, operations, engineering, workshop and support teams all play a part in ensuring equipment is properly prepared, maintained and ready to perform when it reaches the customer.”

The strong July performance follows continued investment in Brimmond’s rental fleet and capabilities, with the company providing customers with access to specialist equipment including hydraulic power units (HPUs), marine cranes, power reelers, pumps and its NetJet high-pressure cleaning system for the aquaculture sector.

Demand has continued into August, with a further two rental cranes alongside diesel and electric HPUs prepared for mobilisation to customer projects.

Alan continued, “One of the strengths of our rental offering is that we’re not simply supplying equipment. We have the engineering and technical expertise in-house to understand the application, prepare the equipment accordingly and provide support throughout the rental.

The last few months have been busy for the team, but whatever customer requirements came our way, the response has been the same: challenge accepted.”

Brimmond designs, manufactures, rents, repairs and refurbishes specialist lifting, mechanical and hydraulic equipment from its headquarters in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, supporting customers across the energy, marine, aquaculture, renewables, decommissioning and defence sectors.
