Imagine raising your children in a single room, sleeping, eating, and living in the same confined space.
Now imagine being unable to afford even that, and suddenly finding yourself locked out with nowhere to go. This is the reality facing families supported by Gathimba Edwards Foundation (GEF) in Kenya, and why the charity is now seeking a lead business partner to help change it.
This summer, the Aberdeen-based charity is committed to changing that. GEF is currently working to support four families as they move from uncertainty and hardship into safe, secure homes; places where they can rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.
To make this vision a reality, GEF is seeking a lead partner to join them as their Moja Sponsor—“Moja” meaning number one in Swahili. With a contribution of £10,000, this partner will play a pivotal role in transforming lives by funding all timber required for the construction of these homes.
This is more than a sponsorship. It is an opportunity to become a pillar of hope for four families. By supporting this project, your organisation will help provide:
- Safe and secure shelter
- Access to land for farming and self-sufficiency
- A foundation for long-term, sustainable futures
Myles Edwards, co-founder of GEF, said: “This upcoming building project is the seventh of its kind, where volunteers from the UK and beyond travel to Kenya to join our team as we build new homes from the ground up. The impact goes far beyond bricks and mortar. It is about restoring stability, creating opportunity, and empowering families to thrive.”
The charity is also offering a range of additional partnership packages for organisations and individuals who wish to contribute to this life-changing initiative.
